2009 Death Ride

• This is our first Death Ride experience
  
• Started out 4:40am from our campsite Grover Hot Srpings
• Bobby G and Cici got dropped off at Markleeville
  
• 3 of us rode together Me, Anklai and Niel but me and Anklai have to pace up the climb to fnish the ride early leaving Niel behind and we caught up with Bobby G.
  
• Got our first sticker and grabed some bars and block shots and headed down to Monitor bakc side.
• Got our 2nd sticker and headed back up right away without stop and on the way up we saw the rest. Finally Anklai increased the pace and left me alone so I said to myself that ill just keep my pace due to my fever and cold.
  
• Finished Ebbetts front side and got my 3rd sticker then descended the Back side and saw Anklai and realized we are not so far away from each other.
  
• Tried to catch him by not taking my lunch while pedaling but dont want to redline
  
• Saw my Girl and my Bro at Turtle Rock Park cheering and gave me some boost.
• My fever got worst and my body temp was high so i was sweating like crazy. Near the HWY 88 they have a rest stop with a hose so got my body wet to lower my body temp
• The headwind to Pickets Junction was terrible all the way to Carson then my legs cramped but not that bad so i was drinking water every 5 min instead of every 15min.
• Heading up to carson it hailed for couple of min then as i got my last sticker I put my jacket and warmers because it started to rain.
• Crosswind and wet road going 49mph is as fast as i can go on the way back to TRP. Accident at Carson descent one rider went down
  
• Finished strong and saw Anklai who finished 1st followed by me.
  
• We waited for Neil at TRP but the clouds are closing and it started to rain on our spot so we decided to find him. Saw him near carson descending and we caught up with him near TRP.
  
• All in all first timers finished the Death Ride Me, Anklai and Niel. Bobby G and Cici did 4 so with bong Orbea and Rich. Great job guys. till next year
